For those that belong in multiple marginalized groups, this can result in having even fewer connections. This is because marginalized groups are pushed to the periphery of the social network due to having fewer connections to a social network's central parts and being predisposed to connection with others who are also less well-connected. This can make it harder to access opportunities, such as jobs. ¹
