Working on fishy facts on stream today:

• Also been doing a lot of Haskell stuff lately which has been fun.
• Literally cannot remember what I was doing last, gotta figure out how to get back into it.
• The next playtesting event is at the MADE in 9 days. It would be nice to have the new light levels in the game (with a way to skip the touch pool area so players can try out the new levels).
• Maybe today we just focus on making levels.

    • Scientific name: Thunnus thynnus
    • World's largest species of tuna
    • Can live up to 40 years
    • Can swim in big bursts of speed, as fast as 69 km/h
    • Return to their place of birth to spawn

    • Longest-lived species of tuna
    • Typically spawn in the Gulf of Mexico or the Mediterranean Sea, returning to the place they were born, at the age of 10. They do this again every year thereafter.
    • Unlike most other fish, Atlantic Bluefin Tuna has an ability to regulate their body temperature that would otherwise normally be lost through their gills to the cold ocean water. They have specialized blood vessels known as "rete mirabile" where cold blood from the gills passes near warm blood from the swimming muscles, and a mechanism called "countercurrent exchange" traps the heat inside the body.
      • This allows the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna to be one of the few warmblooded fishes.
      • Coldblooded fishes become more sluggish in cold waters, so this is a big advantage for the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna.
    • Atlantic Bluefin Tuna can swim faster than an Orca or a Great White Shark.
    • The tuna has to keep moving in order to survive, because it needs water to go over its gills to get oxygen (not sure how this affects sleeping)
      • This also means that unlike other fish, it cannot suck prey into its mouth, instead needing to chase down prey with their mouths open.
    • When Tuna as strong enough to swim against the current, they leave their spawning grounds to hunt for their entire lives in the Atlantic Ocean.

    • Largest bluefin tuna ever caught as recorded by the International Game Fish Association was 678.58 kg (1496 lb 0 oz) at Aulds Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada on 1979-10-26 by Ken Fraser.
    • The diet of the tuna consists of squid, eels and crustaceans as well as pelagic schooling fish such as mackerel, flying fish, herring, whiting, and mullet.
    • Spawning occurs in the summer or spring, with females shedding 25 million or more eggs.
