While watching arispacegirl play no signal, I was reminded of the "DON'T FORGET, FRIDAY IS NOT A DAY" text that is in the game in room 2G. I explained what it meant to ari, but I realized that I never recorded it on my website and I should do that. Here's what I said:
so that phrase is actually a reference to a 360 tour of the Halley VI we based the design of the station after, which was taken by a photographer
it was written on the board in one of the rooms and we thought it was really funny
one of the people in my community asked the photographer what the phrase meant and here's what they said:
Hello! Thanks a lot for your kind words - I'm glad you like the photos and the virtual tour. I've had an amazing time at Halley and I loved every minute being there.
I think the writing originally said "DON'T FORGET, FRIDAY IS NOT A DAY OFF", but I may be wrong on that. This was in the days leading to the Mid Winter, and the message may have been a reminder to tell people that it's not yet the Mid-Winter break. So nothing too exciting I guess!
The 360 tour, taken by MichaĆ Krzysztofowicz is here: https://halley360.antarcti.co/
In case the website is not available in the future, here's a screenshot of the text, which can be found on a whiteboard in A Module next to the entrance to the A Module Kitchen:
