Normally, when I consume media and find something that I like, I try to look at the person's other work to see if I like it or not. However, since I'm quite selective, I've realized while looking up Roma Fade by Andrew Bird again that there have been a number of cases where I don't like anything else that artist has made.

It would be easy to read this in a negative or cynical way; that it's a shame that I'm so picky or that people are not as good at making works of art as they ought to be. However, I know that art is hard to make and I'm very thankful that these artists have made something that I like. I love the work that the person made, even if I don't like the other works I've seen from them.

It reminds me that my goal, to reach other people and to have a profound connection with them with my art, doesn't need to be successful in every attempt. As long as I can make that connection at least once, in something I make... there's something nice about that. It's inspiring.

I think it would be nice to have a lists of artists who have made exactly one thing I like and why I like it.
