At music lesson, listening to obsidian moon:
- Four to the floor drumbeat makes it not sound like mathrock.
- Could try moving bass to offbeat, so it isn't playing with the kick.
- Could try doubling the bass and lead, like at the end of the phrase.
- Could try doing the B section only one time
instead of twice, before going back into the groove.
- As an example, listened to https://youtu.be/gQ99OMlI5cg
- Maybe consider getting rid of the drums.
- Could try adding an accompaniment that plays whole notes an octave above the guitar.
- Could double the guitar to make the song feel like it is developing.
- I don't feel like adding a riser would feel
"mathrock", so what can I do to increase tension?
- Change the chords at the end of the verse, or just changing the root notes of the base
- We need a chorus which feels big and contrasting in some way. Maybe chords, hits, or stops.
